Abstract
Wearing a mouthguard during various sports is effective and necessary for preventing and decreasing injurious force to orofacial region. The purpose of this study is to introduce the fabrication methods of two types of custom made mouthguard for different kind of sports which have different main purpose. For members of national team in the 2014 Asian game, 22 soft type and 13 hard type mouthguards were fabricated according to characteristics of their sports events. As a result, 12 players acquired medals and all players estimated the effect of mouthguard positively. Thus, we introduced these results to increase the recognition of mouthguard and popularize its use in various atheletics.
